Report: Leisure Travel Bookings From India Rise By 40%; Singapore The Most Booked Destination

The travel industry took a serious hit when the COVID-19 pandemic struck the world. However, now, the industry is gradually recovering. A recent report by the travel-intent platform Adara has found that bookings for leisure travel from the country have increased significantly. This means that more and more people are finally starting to travel again and they’re not just travelling locally, but also internationally. The study revealed major travel trends that emerged in the country this summer.

The travel-intent platform Adara recently published a study which revealed interesting details about the travel trends of people in India. One of the biggest positive findings in the study was that leisure travel is strongly recovering from the impact of the pandemic.

Findings revealed that bookings for leisure travel in the months of June to August of this year, have gone up by 40 per cent compared to the same period last year. This means that more people are going on international vacations and for leisure than since the pandemic started.

Singapore Is The Most Booked Travel Destination

The study revealed that Indians when it comes to leisure travel, preferred Singapore by a long shot. Singapore witnessed the highest number of bookings from India for the months of June, July, and August.

After Singapore, the highest number of bookings were in cities like San Francisco, Melbourne, Toronto, and Bali. This means that in addition to Singapore, Indians have also taken to travelling to these international destinations.

The study also revealed that countries like the United States of America or the US, the United Kingdom or the UK, and Canada, were very popular with Indian couples. Asian cities like Singapore and Bali were also among the popular destinations for them.

On the other hand, for families, places like the United Arab Emirates or the UAE, the US, Singapore, Thailand, and Canada, were the most popular. Indian families had the highest number of bookings at these destinations in the time period specified above.
