Recently, a video of a Tamil Nadu State transport bus driver on his retirement day went viral. And Netizens united to bid him farewell for his service.

Nowshath A, a journalist recently tweeted a video on his Twitter handle@Nousa_journo. The video shared by the correspondent shows a significant moment in the life of 60-year-old Muthupandi, a driver of Tamil Nadu State Transport. On his retirement day, Muthupandi, who drove the bus for decades expressed his gratitude and fond affection for the bus, which has become his life-long companion over the years.

The visibly emotional driver kisses the steering wheel of the bus and expresses his heartfelt gratitude to the vehicle. A touching scene shows Muthupandi touching the gear, the break and the accelerator, as if seeking blessings. The 60-year-old driver who has given his services to Tamil Nadu State Transport, pays respect to the bus by touching the footboard. It almost symbolises the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter his life.

He Tearfully Says His Profession Gave Him Respect In Society

Muthupandi later walks to the front of the bus and gives it a good hug. The bond between the dedicated driver and the faithful machine is translated so beautifully. It left all of us emotional. According to Times Now, Muthupandi drove the bus in Anupanadi- Thiruparangunram-Mahalaksmi colony route in Madurai.

As per Times Now,  Muthupandi emotionally says in Tamil that his profession earned him respect in society. He goes on to add that he could offer good education to his children and take care of his parents and wife thanks to his profession. How heartwarming is this? Netizens wished him a peaceful retired life, full of contentment. They expressed their gratitude for his services.
