The MoU paves the way for several key areas of cooperation. Subject to regulatory approval, the airlines will explore interlining each other’s flights, allowing passengers to seamlessly book journeys that involve both carriers. Additionally, they’ll investigate codesharing agreements, where airlines market and sell seats on each other’s flights under their own flight code. This could open up exciting new destinations for both Riyadh Air and SIA customers.
Beyond ticketing, the partnership extends to frequent flyer programmes, cargo services, and a commitment to digital innovation. This means Riyadh Air passengers could soon enjoy benefits like lounge access and mileage accrual on SIA flights, and vice versa. Similarly, collaboration on cargo services could improve efficiency and access for businesses. The focus on digital innovation suggests a joint effort to streamline booking, check-in, and other travel processes for a seamless customer experience.
