Fashion designer Rohit Bal passed away on November 1. Just two weeks after walking the ramp at the Lakme Fashion Week, the ace designer died at 63 in a hospital in Delhi. He has been battling a heart ailment since last year. Condolences and heartfelt tributes poured all over social media after his demise was announced on Friday night.
Legendary Fashion Designer Rohit Bal Passes Away
Renowned fashion designer and couture master, Rohit Bal passed away on Friday night. He had been facing health issues for almost a year now. According to India Today, Rohit had been admitted to the ICU at a private hospital in Gurugram for a heart ailment last year. His health hasn’t improved much since.
The demise of the legendary designer has shaken the fashion industry, especially after he presented his last collection at the Lakme Fashion Week in Delhi just a few weeks ago. Rohit Bal, despite looking fairly unwell at the fashion week, danced along with his models after presenting his final collection to the world.
A pioneer of Indian fashion, Rohit Bal was known as ‘Gudda’ in the fashion industry. He was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy last year and admitted to Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital. He even faced complications like heart pain and kidney failure during this time.

Since the news of Rohit Bal’s demise broke out, condolences have been pouring in for the ace fashion designer. Celebrities like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Ananya Panday took to social media to pay their respects to Rohit Bal and appreciate his craftsmanship. Ananya Panday walked as showstopper for the designer’s last fashion show two weeks ago.
