Recently, the United Nations World Tourism Organisation declared that Abo Noghta Castles in the Asir region of Saudi Arabia has now been included in the Best Tourism Villages of 2024 list. As announced by the official handle of the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Tourism on X, it was revealed that this recognition was accorded during the ceremony held in Cartagena, Columbia. The inclusion of this heritage town in the prestigious international list emphasises that the diverse historical and cultural significance of this town cannot be ignored.
Not to mention, it is proof of the fact that it has a rich heritage that spans centuries. In fact, not just the Ministry of Tourism but other government entities also supported the nomination of this heritage town in this list.

More About The Heritage Town
For those who are not aware, Abo Noghta Castles is located in the historical town of Tabab, which is in the Asir region. Comprising several strongholds and structures, these were built from the local rocky stone, this is a prominent landmark in the region. It features unique architectural designs, which is prominent in the Asiri Heritage. Complete with my white marble trimmed windows and edges, this magnificent palace overlooks the Tabab Valley and offers a breathtaking view of the historical landmarks in the region.
While the town is home to many palaces, mosques, and forts, all these dates back hundreds of years, as revealed by the Saudi Gazette. Located just 25 km northwest of Abha, it is situated at an elevation of 2400 m above sea level.
