The Red Sea Global recently secured a license for water aerodrome and seaplane flights. With this, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is soon going to start welcoming seaplanes, as revealed by the luxury tourism development. As it happens, the group took to its official account on X to reveal that, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has become home to its first water runway on the Ummahat Islands.

With Red Sea Global successfully securing an operating license for a water aerodrome, it has become the first site in Saudi Arabia to get a water runway. Not to mention, according to reports by Arabian Business, this represents a significant boost for the aviation sector in the nation. This development has come after the aerodrome has fulfilled all the necessary requirements as put forward by the aviation safety regulation of the General Authority for Civil Aviation, as mentioned by Red Sea Global. As previously noted, this will be located on the Ummahat Islands, and the water aerodrome has been designed to achieve a unique harmony between the marine environment and aviation.

For those who are one ring, the experience is going to be nothing short of spectacular. People will be transferred by air from the Red Sea International Airport, as they enjoy the spectacular views below. As it happens, with the gain of the license, this update has contributed towards creating a tourism-friendly environment. As it happens, this development is in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which also includes projects such as the Red Sea Destination. At this point, it’s also worth mentioning that Red Sea Global has received an Air Operator Certificate from GCA for Fly Red Sea, which is also the first seaplane flight operator in Saudi Arabia.

Red Sea Recently Welcomed Its First Guests

It should be noted that this development comes after the Red Sea welcomed its first guest earlier this month. Not to mention, two of its hotels are already open for bookings and the Red Sea International Airport is constantly receiving regular schedule of flights. Once it is completed in 2030, this destination will be home to 50 resorts. As a result, it will be offering up to 8,000 hotel rooms and over 1,000 residential properties that will be spread across 22 islands and six inland sites.

Some of the exciting highlights of the destination will also include luxury marinas, food and beverage destinations, leisure facilities, entertainment, and even golf courses. For those who aren’t aware, Red Sea Global is a closed joint stock company, which is owned by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.
