Good news, expats! Saudi Arabia has removed the need to line up for a Hajj digital entry permit. The General Directorate of Passports has officially started electronic applications for resident workers during the sacred Hajj season. This slick new move means you can now apply online without dragging yourself to a government office. No stress, no stampedes, just smooth clicks. The Absher platform and the Muqeem Portal are your golden keys this Hajj season. It’s all part of the kingdom’s effort to keep things organised, respectful, and less chaotic when millions of pilgrims flood into Makkah.

Saudi Arabia is allowing expats for the Hajj strategically. One can obtain a permit depending on their identity and where one works.
Use the Absher Platform
Apply here if you’re a:
- Domestic worker
- Dependent of a Saudi resident
- Premium Residency holder
- Investor
- Mother of a Saudi citizen
- GCC citizen
All you need is to upload the right documents and you’re on the list.
Use the Muqeem Portal
This one’s tailored for:
- Workers in companies based in Makkah
- Seasonal visa holders
- People with contracts for Makkah-based jobs during Hajj
Basically, if your work badge says “Makkah,” you’re good to go. Just log in, upload your docs, and let the portal do the rest.
And this system links with the Tasreeh digital platform. This system has the final say in the official Hajj permits. So, no mix-ups. No “oops, wrong permit.” It’s all synced and sorted.
