It’s no secret that cricket is the most popular sport in India and it’s believed that IPL has a vast global audience. Yes, it stands third to the English Premier League and the National Football League. As it happens, STA is tapping into its fan base for boosting the awareness of the region as an all-year-round destination for Indian travellers. With a specific focus on young people, it must be mentioned that Saudi Arabia is set to welcome 2 million people from India this year! Not to mention, India is also expected to become the largest tourism source market by 2030.

Moreover, Saudi is also easing access for millions of visitors across India, thereby inspiring them to explore the kingdom. In fact, Indian visitors are now also eligible for a new stopover visa, which was introduced at the beginning of the year. This will allow passengers aboard SAUDIA and Flynas to visit Saudi for up to 96 hours while travelling to their final destination. Not to mention, it also includes a complimentary hotel night for SAUDIA passengers. This development has come after there’s been an increase in the love for cricket in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Yes, in 2020, the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation was set up, which saw total participation of 35,000 in domestic cricket tournaments and championships. Moreover, the national team of Saudi cricket is currently at the 32nd spot out of 108 nations! So, this collaboration will not only strengthen the kingdom’s commitment to India as an important market but will also seek to broaden Saudi’s association with cricket.

So, on a concluding note, it must be mentioned that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is home to a diverse landscape that can be enjoyed throughout the year. This includes everything from the green highlands of Asir to the pristine waters of Saudi’s 1,700 km, long Red Sea coast.
