A total of 19 cheetahs were reintroduced to India from Nambia and South Africa back in 2022. These wild animals have been relocated to Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh. After changing their original homes and relocating to an all-new place, these cheetahs just got new Indian names on Thursday. Entire India participated to give Indian names to these cheetahs staying in MP right now. What are their names given by Indians? Let’s find that out!

Bhupender Yadav Uploaded A Video Sharing The Names Of 19 Cheetahs

Union Minister Bhupender Yadav shared a beautiful video on Twitter that presents small details and glimpses of Narendra Modi’a Mann Ki Batt address and how the PM asked everyone to suggest some names for these cheetahs relocating to India from Namibia and South Africa.

Narendra Modi asked the Indian citizens to share some names of these cheetahs. He asked Indians to propose names for these new cheetahs back on 25 September 2022 while addressing Mann Ki Baat. Interestingly, a competition was organised by the Indian government where people could suggest names for these 19 cheetahs from Namibia and South Africa.

There Were Over 10,000 Entries For This Competition

Indians have poured all their love on these cheetahs and made a total of 11,565 entries to suggest names for them. New names were selected from the entries only. According to a report by Daijiworld, a selection committee has selected the names for these cheetahs from the entries. They chose the names according to their importance of them and how these are connecting with their conservation.

Narendra Modi Shared The Video On Twitter!

PM Modi took to his official Twitter account to congratulate all the winners. Also, he added in the caption that he hopes the cheetahs to continue remaining happy and healthy.
