Say Hello To ‘Talabots’! Talabat & RTA Collab To Introduce Food Delivery Robots In Dubai

Robots are fascinating to us humans. And Dubai knows this well! So apart from getting greeted by robos at the Museum of Future, expect them to drop your food at your doorstep. Confused? RTA in collaboration with the famous food delivery service of UAE, Talabat has launched an autonomous service and we are surprised! *Drumrolls* Say hello to ‘Talabots’. Looks like a love child of these two departments, isn’t it?

Talabots Are The Future Of Food Delivery In The UAE

The goal of the company is to empower riders in future generations of sustainable delivery by launching automated robotic devices. In collaboration with the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) and Talabat UAE, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the deployment of automated food delivery robots, or “talabots,” in the Dubai Silicon Oasis as a test project (DSO).

This programme encourages the adoption of zero-emission delivery methods. It also makes use of cutting-edge technology to boost effectiveness in an effort to modernize green last-mile delivery in the United Arab Emirates.

Will The Robots Blend In The Community And Maintain Privacy & Safety?

This initiative supports Dubai’s aim of having 25% of all transportation trips automated and smart by 2030. By obscuring faces without a facial recognition detecting capability, the AI technology used in the talabots protects people’s identities in accordance with UAE rules intended to preserve the community’s privacy.

The “talabots” will go within a 3-kilometre radius of the Cedre shopping Center launch point to guarantee a quick 15-minute delivery time. They offer higher accuracy and harmonious urban living.

Additionally, the robots come equipped with a number of in-built sensors and cutting-edge algorithms. It can intelligently assess its surroundings and detect obstacles in its path, keeping a safe distance from children and pets. This overall allows them to blend in with the community and gives customers peace of mind.

Moreover, Aramex, a supplier of distribution and transport services, on Tuesday, declared that its drone and curbside bot deliveries test was successful in Dubai.
