We’ve all had unsatisfactory flight experiences. It may have been unsatisfactory for a number of reasons. Maybe the flight attendants were rude, maybe your flight was delayed or maybe it was very turbulent. However, the discomfort is different when it is caused by the lack of manners or civic sense of your co-passengers. It seems that the last is increasingly the case.
Recently, the actor Sayani Gupta may also have had a similar experience. She took to the popular social media platform, Instagram, and shared a small rant in her stories. She said that “Indian men on flights are just the f****** worst.” Clearly, her anger was palpable. She continued to list the behaviours exhibited by them like coughing, loud phones, no sense of space, etc.
She also went on to state that one of her co-passengers almost smashed her in the face with his backpack without even realising it. The situation even got audible gasps from other passengers who witnessed this scene! This mini-rant was shared on Reddit, another popular social media platform, and many people shared their opinions there.

The rant got a number of varying reactions. By and large though, people seemed to agree with the sentiment, if not the words, she displayed. Many thought that it was true that there are people who are just plain rude, but the fact that was targeting Indian men specifically didn’t sit well with them.

This Reddit user raised a valid point and stated that while the rest of the rant is understandable, the incident where she almost got hit with the bag seemed like it could happen to anyone.
