A school is a place where we must do many frameworks. This place decides the future of our nation. Hence it’s essential to inculcate good habits during the school span children. And it should start with good eating habits. Dubai Municipality (DM) will revamp school canteens to make healthier dining more enticing. This initiative to introduce a healthy menu will start the new academic year.

In order to increase the number of fruits, vegetables, and fibre in the foods they offer, caterers and canteen managers are being urged to try out new recipes.

It might be a challenge initially to receive positive feed from children post changes. To ensure that kids eat healthily at school, updated nutrition rules that adhere to international best practices have been established. The town hopes to reinstate several enjoyable projects and activities to motivate students to make better choices after two years of Covid-related restrictions.

An Attractive Approach Is Important To Introduce Healthy Options

It’s a perspective to avoid healthy eating because it is advertised in such a way. Healthy food is usually displayed as bland and tasteless. Hence, a change of mindset by adopting attractive ways to portray healthy eating is necessary.

Their trails would surround by cutting down on sugary drinks, eatables and fried items. But the elimination of such things would be impossible. Hence schools would minimize the intake size of such eatable beverages.

Using characters to attract kids and keep them entertained was tried, and they bore success. The concept of food heroes flourished among children.

A specific person is responsible for looking around the healthy changes made in the canteen. That individual is known as the person-in-charge or PIC. The PIC must put data for the Foodwatch app, including meal times, menus, and nutritional data for every dish served. DM assigns schools a health rating based on these and a few other variables.
