In light of the impending weather conditions, Sheikh Hamdan also directed all private schools in Dubai to conduct remote learning sessions on Tuesday, April 16. This decision aims to mitigate any potential risks associated with the anticipated rain and thunderstorms.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued alerts, warning residents about the possibility of lightning, thunder, and hail in certain areas across the UAE. With heavy rainfall forecasted, there are concerns about potential flooding, particularly in low-lying areas. In response, schools and offices in several emirates are shifting to remote operations to ensure the safety of students and employees.

Emirates Respond To The Forecast

Abu Dhabi has activated distance learning for all schools and mandated remote work for government entities. Similarly, private schools in Abu Dhabi have been advised to conduct classes online. In Sharjah, private schools and higher education institutions will switch to remote learning on Tuesday and Wednesday, accompanied by the cancellation of all sporting activities and competitions.

Ajman has followed suit, implementing remote learning for private schools on Tuesday and Wednesday due to the adverse weather conditions. Umm Al Quwain has also declared a day of distance learning on Tuesday to safeguard students and faculty from potential weather-related disruptions.

To Sum Up
