His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE has appointed his highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to be the new Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. The newly appointed crown prince of the emirate is also his son. This is what you need to know about the meeting that happened on Wednesday, March 29.

The Crown Prince Of Abu Dhabi Announced

A series of major appointments were made in a meeting on Wednesday, which saw HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan announce the appointment of his son, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the new Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. At this point, it is worth noting that Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the eldest son of the President. In fact, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan also named his brother, HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as the Vice President of UAE. This means he will serve alongside HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai.

Other Important Appointments To Note!

According to a report by Hindustan Times, he also named his other brothers HH Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan and HH Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the Deputy Rulers of Abu Dhabi. It is worth noting that HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan became the Ruler of Abu Dhabi and the President of the UAE in May 2022, after the death of his half-brother, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed. Did you know the president is popularly known by his initials MBZ? Yes, this is hardly surprising as there was reshuffling in Abu Dhabi previously, at the two of the biggest state funds.

This news has certainly taken the country by storm and the appointments are trending everywhere on social media. While official images from the meeting are yet to be released, people are certainly curious about the changes that they can expect in the coming days.
