How many times while visiting McDonalds and Subway, have you noticed flocks of hungry, underprivileged children loitering around, looking inside with hungry eyes? And how many times have you stopped to buy them a meal? In a first, Subway outlet owner Karan Veer Singh from Jalandhar, was really happy about opening his first outlet, and wanted to share his joy with these slum children instead of inviting some celebrity.
What Is It?
Karan Veer Singh from Jalandhar recently inaugurated his Subway outlet, and he celebrated the day in a way no one could have thought. He went over to nearby slum colonies and invited the kids to travel with him to his new restaurant to be a part of the inauguration.

Undoubtedly this was something that filled the kids with joy. These 20 kids were elated to travel through the city in luxury cars and be a part of a brand new restaurant’s inauguration. Everyone was extremely impressed by Karan Veer Singh’s initiative. It not only gave them the opportunity to eat good food, but also let them experience a life they never thought they could be a part of.
According to the Subway Development Agent for Punjab, Karan Veer has set a benchmark in the city of Jalandhar.
What’s More?
Subway has always been committed towards underprivileged kids, and this act of Karan Veer Singh was highly appreciated by the organisation as well. In the month of November every year, Subway celebrates World Sandwich Day by partnering with some of the leading Charity organisations.

In India, Subway has partnered with Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation, which is a country wide foundation dedicated to the welfare of children.
40% of the food prepared in India is wasted, while over 199 million go to bed without having food to eat. Hope other restaurant owners across the country take note of this effort by Karan Veer Sing, and take a step in order to help feed the underprivileged kids near and around their restaurant
