What Is It?
Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 is the largest sports and humanitarian event which is going to see 7,000 athletes from 170 nations participate in 24 officially-sanctioned Olympic-style sports between 14th – 21st March 2019 at the Zayed Sports City. Special Olympics celebrates all athletes with intellectual disabilities (ID), regardless of their level of ability. It is one of the most important parts of the country’s local, national and regional plans to expand opportunities for people of determination which is in line with Abu Dhabi and the UAE’s shared vision. The tickets for the opening ceremony for the general public are now on sale and you can purchase them for just AED 100.
What’s In It?
The event is expected to have around 40,000 spectators and will start at 5:00 pm on 14th March 2019. During the opening ceremony, the athletes will be joined by international celebrities and sporting heroes to raise this special occasion. This event will have the largest number of athletes and nations to take part in the Special Olympics opening ceremony.
