On a typical Saturday night, Mumbai airport turned into a scene of unexpected chaos, thanks to a certain SpiceJet flight. Scheduled for an 11:30 pm departure, the Mumbai-Dubai flight seemed like just another routine journey, until it wasn’t. Passengers found themselves waiting, but not boarding, as the clock ticked on. What they didn’t know was that the plane would take off two hours later than planned. And what they weren’t told was, well, anything at all.
Communication took its own flight that evening. As passengers stood by, expecting to hear some update, any update, there was nothing but silence. It wasn’t until they were herded onto the bus to the plane that they got the news: their flight was delayed. Cue the frustration, and understandably so.
Mumbai Airport’s SpiceJet Counter Turns Into A Chaos
Now, we all know that flight delays happen. But what makes a two-hour delay feel like an eternity is when you’re left in the dark. The SpiceJet staff decided to keep this piece of information to themselves until the last possible moment. And when passengers finally did get the memo, let’s just say they weren’t too pleased. The silence didn’t sit well.
The lack of transparency led to a dramatic showdown at the boarding gate. Passengers, who had likely envisioned a smooth journey to Dubai, instead found themselves mired in a heated argument with the airline staff.

This isn’t the first time SpiceJet has had a bit of turbulence on the ground. Just a few days earlier, on August 2, the airline found itself in hot water, again when hundreds of passengers were stranded at Dubai airport. The reason? A case of unpaid dues, leading to flight cancellations. The fiasco made headlines as the airline scrambled to rebook passengers and find them a place to stay. The same airline, the same city, but a different day, and yet here we were again.

What happened on Saturday night was just another chapter in what seems to be a growing saga of delays, cancellations, and angry passengers.
