Studio V/s Stage, Tulsi Kumar Shares Her Preference As An Artist & Which Bollywood Actress Best Matches Her Voice

During a recent episode of Sunday Brunch, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani had a great time enjoying a feast of authentic Delhi flavours at singing sensation Tulsi Kumar’s Delhi home. During the fun chat, we asked her if she preferred performing live or recording songs in a studio, and here’s what the singer had to say.

Tulsi Kumar Gets Candid About Recording In A Studio & Performing Live

With beautiful chandeliers brightening up the living room and a train-themed dinner area, Tulsi Kumar’s Delhi home is a piece of art, to say the least! While enjoying a lavish feast of Palak Patta Chaat, Tandoori Dal, and Gulab Jamun, Tulsi answered one of the trickiest questions for every singer–stage or studio, what does she prefer? Without missing a beat, she explained that the studio was a comfortable space for her. She can record and re-record a song she is making there. At times, she even goes to re-record a song because she doesn’t like some part of it, elaborating on the comforts of a studio for an artist.

The stage, on the other hand, Tulsi Kumar feels is where all the efforts of the studio come out. She says, “Performing on the stage is a different high altogether! When the audience is singing the lyrics with you, jamming and grooving to the song with you, that’s a completely different experience. That’s something you can’t explain.” So, in a true artistic fashion, she explained her love for both but could not choose one.

While enjoying the massive gulab jamun from Delhi’s Bengali Market, we asked Tulsi Kumar which Bollywood actress, she feels, best matches her voice. “Hands down, Shraddha Kapoor,” she replied with a smile. She went on to explain that she has been the actress’ background singer in several movies and Aashiqui 2 was the biggest hit of them all. She explains, “Shraddha’s persona and my voice, on her, really blends well and I have done a couple of songs for her.”
