5 Stunning Castles In India That Are Straight Out Of A Fairy Tale

All of us might have heard Fairy tales from our grandparents. We all have imagined huge castles with butlers and others serving royal treatment. Larger life castles, grand intricate architecture, mesmerizing views and luxurious rooms, are all a dream, isn’t it? But you can bring this dream to life, here are 5 stunning castles in India that seem straight out of a fairy tale.

1. The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur

Spread across 50 acres and built on the 200-year-old hunting grounds that belonged to Maharana of Mewar, The Oberoi Udaivilas overlooks Lake Pichola. Featuring a complex layout of interconnected domes and corridors, the gardens here are extremely luxurious. The grand architecture is inspired by the Palaces of Rajasthan and offers luxury like no other.

2. Rambagh Palace, Jaipur

Rambagh Palace was originally built in 1835 and has been through many royal transitions gracefully. A palace with perfectly manicured gardens and architecture reminiscent of Indian culture, it was the former residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur. It is one of the most popular castles due to its courtyards, reflecting pools, fountains, serene backdrop, and domed pavilions.

3. Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur

As a project of Maharaja Umaid Singh during the famine of the 1920s, the palace has evolved into three separate functions: a residence for the royal family, a luxury hotel, and a museum displaying the history of Jodhpur’s royal family. On Chittar Hill, the highest point in Jodhpur, the Palace overlooks the historical Blue City, vast sand dunes, and intimidating Mehrangarh Fort.

4. Taj Falaknuma Palace, Hyderabad

Taj Falaknuma Palace is a 32-acre hilltop estate elevated at 2000 feet from the city. Its enchanting views of the twinkling City of Pearls evoke memories of the Nizam’s regal rule of Hyderabad. From the moment you enter the Palace in a horse-drawn carriage, the butlers and the stunning views will surely make you feel like you in a fairytale.
