Obsessed with taking selfies? Then, here’s your chance to hit the big time. Now, you can earn fame by simply clicking a selfie at Agartala or Dehradun airport. The Airports Authority of India ( AAI ) has rolled out a #MYAirportSelfie contest for these airports. The flyer needs to take a selfie from within or outside the airport terminal building and send it on a WhatsApp number. The winner will be featured on all social media handles of AAI. That’s not all. The lucky one’s picture will come up on the Flight Information Display System (FIDS) on all airports. You can enter the terminal and see your picture on the display. How cool is that? How To Participate In #MYAirportSelfie Contest Of AAI?

For now, the contest is open for flyers to and from Agartala and Dehradun airports only. But reportedly, AAI will soon extend it to other Indian airports too. To participate in the contest, you need to follow the steps below:

  • Take a selfie from within or outside the airport terminal building at Agartala or Dehradun airport. Remember, selfies taken elsewhere, even at the airside, will stand invalid.
  • If you’re taking the selfie at Agartala airport, send it on the WhatsApp number 9402140030. If you’re taking the selfie at Dehradun airport, send it on the WhatsApp number 9410770416.
  • Try to take your selfie with a striking background.
  • The participant needs to ensure that the selfie does not violate or infringe upon any third party rights, like trademarks or copyrights. In that case, the entry will be disqualified.

The Contest Will Be On Weekly Basis

The contest for Dehradun and Agartala airports started on January 16 and will go on till January 2022. Also, it will be a weekly contest and results will be declared on a weekly basis. For more such upcoming contests, keep an eye on AAI social media handles. By launching the contest, AAI is aiming to give a boost to the aviation sector and also draw attention to the recently inaugurated New Integrated Terminal Building (NITB) of Agartala’s Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport. The new terminal building has paintings, sculptures and more showcasing the rich culture of Tripura.
