According to an article which was recently published by the Hindustan Times, the Mankhurd-Vashi bridge is estimated to be completed by June. As per an official from the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation or MSRDC, around 73 per cent of the work on the bridge is completed.

An additional six lanes will be added to the already existing bridge which has six lanes. The official said that there will be two bridges of three lanes on each side of the existing bridge. Hence, once the work is completed, there will be six lanes in each direction.

As of now, the existing bridge is being used by more than two lakh motorists every day. Adding lanes to the bridge will certainly aid in easing the bottlenecking.
