His Majesty President of the UAE, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has approved reforms to more than 40 legislation. The most significant legislative reform in the country’s history. The UAE Is Set To Pass A New Law Decriminalising Out-Of-Wedlock Relationships
A new law will be passed in the United Arab Emirates that will loosen prohibitions on extramarital partnerships. Consensual relationships outside of marriage are basically decriminalised under the new law. Assuring that any child born as a result of the relationship will be recognised and cared for.
It Will No Longer Be Illegal To Have Live-In Relationships Or Relationships Outside Of Marriage
This revision follows a change made last year that made it legal for unmarried couples to live together. It will no longer be illegal to be in a relationship as of January 2. You could even live with your lover if you’re not married. In addition, if a couple becomes pregnant, they will not be in violation of the law.

Defying The Law Would Result In A Two-Year Prison Sentence
According to the law, any couple that has a kid out of wedlock must marry or recognise the child individually or jointly.
