The visionary behind this grand endeavour is Viketuno Rio, the festival director and owner of The White Owl. His passion for literature has sprouted a garden of words. Nagaland is a region steeped in storytelling traditions. Now, it is set to witness a pioneering event that promises to bring literature to the forefront of cultural consciousness.

The festival unfurls under the theme ‘Echoes of Narratives,’ a poetic exploration of the Northeast’s rich history, culture, and geography. An engaging, educational, and entertaining program awaits, covering a diverse range of topics from the legacy of Northeast India to the enchanting world of graphic novels, commercial fiction, and discussions on the economy, environment, and wellness. It’s a literary feast catering to every palate.

For the first time, Nagaland will host a constellation of literary stars, including renowned authors like Vivek Shanbagh, Taslima Nasrin, Sarnath Banerjee, Durjoy Dutta, Viju B., Vasudha Rai, Nikhil Gulati, and Lavanya Karthik, to name a few. Local voices will also resonate with eminent authors such as Mmhonlumo Kikon, Avinuo Kire, Shelmi Sankhil, and many more. It will certainly create a harmonious 

Adding a delightful touch to the festival, The White Owl Literature Festival also hosts Nagaland’s first book fair. Publishers and distributors from across the country come together to showcase a diverse collection of books covering various genres. At this festival, younger audiences are not forgotten. There are workshops and dedicated play areas, ensuring an interactive and educational space for children.

But that’s not all—the festival also promises an immersive experience with cultural performances, an eclectic food service, and an affordable entry fee of just INR 50. For school and college students with official identification, entry is free.
