It was the family home of the Tagores and served as the birthplace of Rabindranath Tagore. The mansion was built in the 18th century and served as the residence of the Tagore family for several generations. The sprawling complex features numerous rooms, courtyards, and balconies, that served as a retreat for Tagore. Jorasanko Thakurbari is today a museum.
