Read on to know all the information about the chances of heatwaves this summer season.
Get Ready To Experience A Hotter Summer This Year!
The recent weather prediction of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) is turning out to be one of the worst updates that we could hear. On Monday the agency announced chances of longer heatwaves in April, May, and June. Furthermore, it warned readers about ‘above-normal temperatures’ this summer season.
Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, the IMD Director General, shared how most places in India are likely to experience above-normal maximum temperatures from April to May. The seasonal update also stated a high probability of such weather over central and western peninsular India, according to a report by Asianet News.
In addition to all these, there are chances for the minimum temperatures to remain above normal in most places in India apart from a few isolated parts in Northeast and Northwest India, according to a report by Business Today. IMD also predicted how extreme heatwaves from April to May are likely to harshly affect India’s central and western peninsular regions. The impact of heatwaves and above-normal temperatures may affect many parts of the northern and central plains.
The only good news about the weather predictions is that many places in the Northeast, Himalayan region, and North Odisha are likely to witness below-average maximum temperatures this year.
