As mentioned above, the H Dubai Hotel has become the first in Dubai to achieve the Certified Autism Centre Designation. For those who aren’t aware, it is awarded by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards. This board recognises organisations, which demonstrate a strong commitment to making their services accessible. According to a report by Hotelier Middle East, this certification process ensures that the staff is equipped with all the necessary knowledge and resources that provide a positive experience for its autistic guests and their families.

Not to mention, this designation is given to communities offering a range of trained and certified lodging, entertainment, and recreation options. To achieve this designation, the hotel underwent an on-site assessment by the board that provided recommendations and sensory guides to make the guest experience better. According to a statement by Essa Bin Hadher, GM of Dubai College of Tourism, as mentioned in the report, this is an important step towards the goal of becoming a certified autism designation as it will equip the workforce with better tools to assist visitors with autism.

Moreover, this news comes after recently Atlantis Aquaventure also earned its Certified Autism Centre designation earlier this year. Yes, with this achievement, it became the first water park in the Middle East to earn this designation. For earning this certification they updated 24 attractions in the park wherein the signages included sensory ratings. And as it happens, details about the noise level of the attractions have also been mentioned.

So with these developments, it might not be wrong to assume that soon Dubai will have numerous sites that will be autism-friendly.
