Time spent in a water park or any amusement park is one of the most joyful moments of one’s life. We not only end up making cherishing memories, but the joy of jumping onto new rides and the thrill they offer is simply unparalleled. However, not everybody can enjoy theme parks for a variety of reasons! Some who might find this a particularly difficult experience, include people who live on the autistic spectrum. And keeping this in mind, Dubai’s Atlantis Aquaventure has earned a Certified Autism Centre designation, to become the first water park in the Middle East with such a certificate.

Yes, recently Dubai’s famous theme park, Atlantis Aquaventure, earned a Certified Autism Centre Designation. For this, they completed an extensive training and review process in order to understand and help people with autism and other neurodivergent symptoms better. Moreover, the good folks here have also updated their signage to include sensory ratings. According to a news report by Blooloop.com. This update was made to 24 fantastic attractions at the park! Talking about the information on the signage, it includes details about the water slide or even about the noise level at the attraction. Moreover, this information also mentions lighting and water temperature as well! As such, the thoughtful team here has also created two quiet zones for guests, who may feel overwhelmed during their visit.

At this point, it’s worth mentioning that Atlantis Aquaventure has over 105 slides, rides, and attractions. So, it’s hardly surprising that it is spread over a whopping 22.5 hectares, boasting several record-breaking slides, which also include the world‘s tallest water slide! Additionally, attraction operators have also gone ahead to provide facilities for several people. This includes visitors in wheelchairs, people with sight or hearing impairment, and of course, neurodivergent guests. Did you know Legoland Florida became the first theme park resort in 2022 to earn a CAC designation? Well, following this, in August of 2022, Ocean Park’s Water World also went on to become the first waterpark in Asia to earn a CAC designation.

Doesn’t this sound like a brilliant move? Well, we are surely applauding the theme park for its thoughtful addition!
