This secluded beach is home to lots of sea creatures like snails, crabs shells, jellyfish, and Olive Ridley Turtles. The nickname “Turtle Beach” refers to the turtle nesting grounds that cover the northern part of this beach.

How To Reach Galgibaga Beach?

This beach is located in the deep south of Goa, on the banks of the Galgibag river. It is about 56 km away from Colva, which is a popular beach in South Goa. Margao which is the cultural capital of Goa is about 54 km away from Galgibaga. The road leading to this secluded beach is quite easy.

What Is The Best Time To Visit Galgibaga Beach?

The best time to visit this beach is during the winter months from October to March. During that time the weather is pleasant and not rough. If you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of these endangered turtles hatching over the winter months.

Protected Olive Ridley Turtles

The Olive Ridley turtle nesting area is a protected area at the northern end of the beach. This is the most well-known feature of Galgibaga. The government of Goa is doing an excellent job of protecting the turtle’s habitat and nesting area. Agonda and Morjim are two other beaches that are Olive Ridley Turtles’ nesting grounds.
