Tons Of Plastic Getting Washed Up On Mumbai’s Mahim Beach Shows How Irresponsible We Are!

Even after so many advisories, regulations and a whole Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, people still behave irresponsibly. All they think is that one piece of garbage thrown by them in the sea won’t do any damage but little do they understand that there are hundreds like them thinking the same thing. Recently a Twitter profile shared a video showing tons of plastic getting washed up on Mahim’s beach and the video went viral. 

Arabian Sea’s Return Gift

People are having a bad time understanding the proverb, ‘As you sow, so shall you reap.’ and probably that’s why mother nature is giving back what a lot of us sowed. A Twitter profile recently shared a video of Mahim beach giving us a panoramic view of the whole beach littered with tons of plastic. It seems like the Arabian Sea thought of giving us a return gift for the litter we have been showering it with. The video shows how the beach was washed up with all the plastic and litter people have been throwing into the sea without thinking about the consequences.

Netizens Expressing Their Opinion

The video actually went viral in no time and netizens could not stop themselves from sharing it and also expressing their opinion on the same. There were many people who were visibly very angry and demanded more strict rules to be imposed. Some even spoke of levying hefty fines so that people understand the gravity of the situation. Some also tried explaining the consequences of plastic pollution in the comments.  There was also a follow up post which showed how BMC conducted a clean up drive on the beach to clean up the plastic accumulated.
