Air India will launch non-stop flights between Delhi and Osaka from February 2, 2027, becoming the only airline to operate direct services on the route. Air India To Launch Direct Flights From Delhi To Osaka

The airline will operate four flights a week in each direction using its Boeing 787-8 aircraft. With Osaka joining its network, Air India will serve two destinations in Japan, expanding its presence in a market that has seen growing interest among Indian tourists and business travellers. Osaka will become Air India’s second Japanese destination after Tokyo’s Haneda Airport. The airline currently operates daily flights between Delhi and Haneda, along with four weekly services between Mumbai and Haneda.

The Boeing 787-8 aircraft assigned to the new route features 18 full-flat beds in Business Class and 241 seats in Economy Class. Air India’s new Delhi-Osaka service, AI360, will depart Delhi at 10:50 pm and arrive at Kansai International Airport at 9:50 am the following day. The flight operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The return service, AI359, departs Osaka at 11:50 am and arrives in Delhi at 6:20 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. All timings are local.

The schedule is designed to offer convenient connections to destinations across Air India’s domestic and international network. The airline is progressively opening bookings through its official website, mobile app, customer contact centre, airport ticketing offices and travel agents. The new route will also allow passengers to plan open-jaw trips, flying into Osaka and returning from Tokyo, or travelling in the opposite direction. This flexibility could benefit visitors exploring Japan’s popular Golden Route, which connects Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.

Japan Witnesses Rise In Indian Tourist Arrivals

Japan is becoming an increasingly popular destination for Indian travellers. According to the Japan National Tourism Organisation (JNTO), more than 315,000 Indians visited the country in 2025, a 35% increase over 2024 and nearly 80% higher than pre-pandemic levels. Growing interest in Japan’s cultural attractions, food, leisure experiences and seasonal landscapes has contributed to the rise. Stronger business links and cultural exchanges between the two countries have also supported travel demand.
