A private jet is the ultimate luxury! No fixed schedules, no long security queues, and no waiting for other passengers to board. But imagine chartering one and still being handed a hefty bill for something as basic as food. Doesn’t sound very luxurious, does it? That’s exactly what an Indian-American venture capitalist experienced while flying on a private jet in the US. However, when she later flew with an Indian private jet company, the experience left her pleasantly surprised. Here’s what happened.

Venture capitalist Asha Jadeja Motwani took to X to compare Indian and American private jet services, calling the Indian experience more generous. In her post, she wrote, “Indian jet companies are way more generous and large hearted than American jet companies. And half the price.”

She said that she flew on an 8 seater private jet from Abu Road to Ahmedabad, which was about a 25 minute flight. During her flight in India, she shared that she received a range of complimentary gifts, including a teddy bear, a Dior lipstick, a bouquet of flowers, and hot South Indian food packed to take away—all at no extra cost.

In contrast, she recalled that on a flight with an American private jet company, she had requested a tuna sandwich and was later billed $250 for it. She also noted that no complimentary gifts were provided on that flight.

Further praising the Indian private jet experience, Asha Jadeja Motwani also appreciated the two pilots, describing them as “experienced, professional, and smart.” Summing up her experience, she wrote, “India spoils you!”

A user further added, “Same story with five star hotels. Indian five stars have something to eat even at 2 – 3 AM. You rarely get food past midnight in European countries.”

“To be fair, private jet charter in India is almost at par with US or UK,” one of the comments read.

Someone in the comments argued, “Charter flights in India are for Uber rich; in the US, they are dime a dozen. Hence, the differential treatment in India.”
