Gulmarg Gondola Reopens For Tourists After Month-Long Closure; Check Timings, Ticket Cost & More

After a month-long suspension, the Gulmarg Gondola has now finally reopened for tourists. The service was suspended by the authorities on May 25 due to a technical fault, but has now resumed after completing all safety clearances. Keep reading to know the timings and ticket fares.

Gulmarg Gondola Reopens For Tourists 

The Gulmarg Gondola is one of the world’s highest cable car rides, and yes, it is also a major tourist attraction in Jammu and Kashmir. According to The Financial Express, the rides were suspended after a technical fault in May. But now, the service has resumed following the completion of all required safety checks and inspections by the concerned authorities.

This means that tourists in Jammu and Kashmir can once again enjoy the scenic cable car journey that offers breathtaking views of the snow-covered mountains and lush green valleys below. There is a reason why Gulmarg’s Gondola rides are so popular. These rides are definitely one of the best memories tourists take back from Jammu and Kashmir to their homes.

Timings, Ticket Prices & Other Details

According to The Financial Express, on May 25, more than 300 tourists were stranded in different cabins of the Gondola. A major rescue operation was carried out by the J&K Police, the SDRF, and the Cable Car Operations team to evacuate all passengers.

But now, it has reopened, and tourists can enjoy the rides daily from 10 am to 5 pm. The Gulmarg Gondola operates in two phases. Phase I runs from Gulmarg Resort to Kongdori Station at 2,600 metres and takes about six minutes. Phase II continues from Kongdori Station to Kongdori Mountain near the Apharwat Peak and takes around 12 minutes. The ticket fare for Phase I is ₹700, while Phase II costs ₹900.
