Travellers Can Only Carry Gifts Worth AED 3000 While Entering UAE

Travelling abroad to meet our relatives and loved ones is always fun. We not only look forward to meeting them but also make sure to carry some presents. And if you are someone who loves to carry gifts for your people while visiting them abroad, then we have news for you. Well, as per the Federal Customs Authority (FCA), travellers entering the UAE can now bring gifts with a maximum value of AED 3,000 only.

FCA Asks Travellers To And From UAE To Adhere To These Measures

FCA has updated the rule and has asked all the travellers to and from UAE to strictly adhere to these measures as rescribed by GCC unified customs law and relevant laws to ensure their safety. And to ensure that travellers take this advice seriously, a video in three languages- Arabic, English and Urdu — were released on its social media platforms and its website. The video aims to educate travellers on travel customs procedures, travellers’ rights and obligations as prescribed by GCC unified customs law.

FCA Also States That Travellers Aged Below 18 Cannot Carry Tobacco Products And Alcoholic Drinks

The FCA also reminded the citizens that permitted luggage includes movie projection devices, radio and CD players, digital cameras, TV and personal sports equipment, portable computers and printers, and medication for personal use, provided it complies with the necessary regulations.

The FCA also reminds that the value of gifts that people carry while entering the country cannot be more than AED 3000. It furthermore states that tobacco products and alcoholic drinks should not be carried by travellers aged below 18 years. For cash allowed in person, the authorities said all travellers coming to or departing from the country should disclose any currencies, negotiable instruments payable to bearer, and/or precious metals of stones valued more than AED 60,000.
