More About This New Jersey Temple

The BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham temple is the world’s second-largest Hindu temple and was inaugurated on October 8, 2023. Spread across a massive 183-acre campus, it features a stunning 58-metre-high mandir along with a museum. If you’re planning a visit on weekends, national holidays, or select Hindu festivals, you’ll need to book a free timed entry slot in advance. 

The temple stays open daily from 9 am to 7:30 pm, except Tuesdays, when the entire complex, including the Mahamandir, remains closed. On busy days, visitors can enter 30 minutes before or after their selected time slot.

Before you head there, keep the dress code in mind. The temple maintains a modest and respectful environment, so sleeveless or low-cut tops are not allowed. Shorts, skirts, or dresses above the knee are restricted. Clothes should not reveal the shoulders, chest, back, or knees. Also, avoid outfits with offensive language or imagery. Dress respectfully, and you’re all set to enjoy the experience.
