Norway Arrives At FIFA World Cup 2026 With Tons Of Food From Home

After a 28-year wait, Norway is finally making its return to the FIFA World Cup, and we’re all excited to see how they play this season. We can also say that the team is paying close attention to its food and diet. As per WION, the squad brought 300 kilograms of fish, 116 kilograms of traditional brunost cheese, and more than 6,000 oranges to the United States. This massive stock of food for the team is sent directly to its training base in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Aron Espeland, who has been cooking for the Norwegian national football team for the past 35 years, is leading the entire food operation. Three well-known Norwegian chefs are helping him prepare meals for the squad. Espeland is so confident about the team’s appetite that he believes the players will finish all 300 kilograms of fish before their World Cup journey ends.

What’s More Inside Norway’s Massive Seafood Shipment?

There is also a separate seafood shipment. It is filled with salmon, trout, Arctic char, halibut, king crab, snow crab, and langoustines. They are carrying this massive shipment of seafood because fish and shellfish provide high-quality protein. Seafood also has nutrients such as vitamin D, iron, selenium, and vitamin B12.

In providing nutrition, oranges also play a crucial role. North Carolina’s climate and surroundings are very different from Norway’s, so familiar meals are expected to provide both physical and psychological benefits.
