A new picture series is gaining popularity that imagines what deceased celebrities might look like if they were still alive. Alper Yesiltas, a Turkish artist, claims to use AI to make hyper-realistic portraits of Princess Diana, Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury. It’s part of a series he’s been working on for months. ‘As If Nothing Happened’ Is The Name Of The Photo Series Of The Celebs
Yesiltas’ series, ‘As If Nothing Happened’, was inspired by the popular celebs he ‘missed the most’. He plans to expand it in reaction to the great reception.
One picture which portrays an elderly Princess Diana and was shared only days after Queen Elizabeth II’s death earlier this month, was especially poignant. Diana, with grey hair and wrinkles, stares at the camera while wearing a white shirt and sunglasses on top of her head.
Princess Diana died at 36 in 1997 and would have been 61 today.

Another depicts Jackson in black-and-white, smiling, with a beard and long, curly hair. The music superstar, who died in 2009 at 50, was famous for his vitiligo battles, resulting in his fluctuating visage throughout the years.
However, in Yesiltas’ photograph, you can see Jackson, who would have been 64 today, as a young man before his several operations.

Others in the series include actor Heath Ledger (28), singer Janis Joplin (27), Nirvana leader Kurt Cobain (27), and guitarist hero Jimi Hendrix (27). Also, the series also has rapper Tupac Shakur (25) and Beatles vocalist John Lennon (40).

The Photographer Created Magic With Art And AI
He utilises a mix of applications to generate photographs, some for achieving realistic textures and light and others for photo editing. Yesiltas, 39, of Istanbul, works as an IT lawyer and says he’s always interested in digital art and photography.
He adds that the series receives generally good feedback, except for a few critiques about the sunspots on Princess Diana’s face and Shakur’s wrinkles. However, he wants to expand the series and is open to proposals from his social media fans.
