Residents And Tourists Can Now Extend Their Visas Till December 31
Residents and tourists will now have time till December 31 to leave the country and avoid overstay fines. This move was announced by the Federal Authority of Identity and Citizenship keep the covid-19 pandemic in my mind. As per the new rules, there will be a six-week extension period for those affected by the pandemic. Many travellers and citizens got stuck in the country amid the covid-19 for over 8-months. For those overstaying their visit, people on expired residency visas face fines of AED 315 per week, which is extended by AED 20 daily till they renew their Emirates ID. And for tourists, they have to AED 200 for the first day, and AED100 post that.

Fines For The People Will Be Laid Off As Long As They Leave The Country
The deadline which was initially extended in May till August is now extended till December 31, 2020, to leave the country and avoid paying penalties. However, this rule will not apply to people who lost their job after March 1. On this Maj Gen Saeed Al Rashidi, directors general of the Federal authority said that all fines would be laid off as long as people decide to leave the country.
