UAE Named 8th Best Place To Live In During The Pandemic, Singapore Tops The List

The covid-19 pandemic has created havoc around the world. The pandemic, which began in March 2020, is still destroying several countries. And amid all this, Bloomberg manages to release Covid Resilience Ranking every month, which studies how each country is performing against the ongoing pandemic. And now, the report for April is out, and UAE has advanced three places, taking the eighth spot globally. Read on to know more about it.

The UAE Emerges As Top Arab Country On The List And 8th Globally 

Covid Resilience Ranking by Bloomberg measures each country’s success at curbing the spread of the virus with the least amount of social and economic disturbance. UAE has attained the eighth position globally and the top place in the Arab world by securing 69.7 points on the general index.

In terms of the top spot, Singapore has bagged first place, and the lion city has also been lauded for rolling out vaccines at one of the fastest rates. In terms of vaccines, the UAE has vaccinated 47.4 per cent of its population and is behind Israel that has vaccinated 57.4 per cent.

Now when it comes to the top 10 countries for April, Australia has bagged the 3rd spot, Taiwan 5th, South Korea 6th, Japan 7th, followed by Finland on 9th and Hong Kong on 10th. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is the next Arab country on the list, is positioned in 16th place. The US and the UK follow close behind in 17th and 18th place, respectively.

In terms of the rankings, it is measured using a wide range of data that captures where the pandemic is being handled more effectively. Right from mortality and testing rates to vaccine access and freedom of movement-the list scores everything.
