While the Road Transport Authority (RTA) has been busy with its airborne plans, another major player is entering the mix. Dubai-based private aviation operator Air Chateau has just pre-ordered a fleet of 10 Integrity eVTOLs from European developer CRISALION Mobility. These aren’t your ordinary taxis; they’re electric flying wonders that promise to whisk you across the city in style.

So, what makes these air taxis stand out? For starters, they’re equipped with FlyFree technology, allowing them to move in every direction. Forget the single-spinning rotor of a traditional helicopter; the Integrity eVTOL boasts 16 motors. This design promises not only a smoother ride but also increased safety and control. Each taxi can carry up to five passengers and the pilot, making it perfect for both solo adventurers and group travel.

Flying at speeds up to 180 km/h, these taxis are much faster than your average car. And with zero emissions, they’re as green as they are speedy. Dubai and Abu Dhabi will both benefit from this futuristic fleet, with services expected to roll out by 2030.

Feeling impatient? You’re not alone! While 2030 might seem like a lifetime away, there’s good news on the horizon. The RTA’s flying taxis are set to debut as early as 2025. These RTA JOBY flying taxis will undergo final tests in California and the UAE desert before making their city debut. They’re expected to be as affordable as an Uber Black and will cut your travel time across the city by about a third.

So, keep your eyes on the skies, because the future of travel in Dubai is just about to take flight.
