Dubai beaches are known for being one of the prime tourist spots in the emirate. With so many people including everybody from residents to tourists visiting them, it’s undoubtedly one of the most popular sites in the emirate. And recently the Dubai Municipality announced that it has completed the makeover of four beaches in Dubai, including Mamzar Corniche, Jumeirah 1, Jumeirah 3, and Umm Suqeim 1. Here’s more about the makeover project!

Makeover Complete Of 4 Dubai Beaches

According to a recent post retweeted by the official account of Twitter, Dubai Municipality recently let people know that it has completed the makeover project of four beaches in Dubai. Yes, the AED93 million project, wherein 112,000 square metres of space was added. This project was completed on the beaches of Mamzar Corniche, Jumeirah 1, Jumeirah 3, and Umm Suqeim 1. According to the news report by Khaleej Times, this development was made for the purposes of recreational activities, future developments and new facilities and services.

A Glimpse Of The Scope Of Makeover

If you’re also wondering about the development project that was undertaken at the four beaches, here’s a glimpse.

Al Mamzar Corniche Beach

This project involved the backfilling and reclamation of 9000 square meters of land. Moreover, there was also an installation of the 100-metre rocky belt which would help in stability and feature 340 linear metres of rock protection. As such, the beach sand of over 220 metres was supplied and fed.

Jumeirah 1 Beach

At this beach, the makeover project included the supplying and feeding of 125,000 cubic metres of beach sand. This covered a total length of 1,000 linear metres and also included existing coastal fenders maintenance. Not to mention, their length was also increased by 160 metres with the help of metal and wooden piles.

Jumeirah 3 Beach

Beach sand across a length of 750 linear metres was supplied for Beach number 1 at Jumeirah Beach 3. While for Beach number 2, 690 linear metres and Beach number 3, 525 linear metres of sand were supplied. Besides the 160 linear metres of additional rock barrier, two rock belts for beach number 1 and 2 were also constructed at the length of 535 and 400 linear meters, respectively.

Umm Suqeim 1 Beach

The scope of work here included constructing the new 325 linear metres of breakwater and 520 linear metres of rock belt. Additionally, approximately 500 metres of the beach was added by backfilling and reclaiming new land.
