1. Muttrah Souk

Nestled in Muscat, Muttrah Souk is one of the most popular souks of Oman. It provides a perfect amalgamation of culture, traditions and authenticity. Considered one of the oldest marketplaces in the world, the souk of Muttrah in Muscat is probably the most popular souk in the capital of Oman. It is located in the Muttrah corniche on a busy street with two main entrances. The Muttrah Souk is a maze of very small shops, selling all kinds of spices, herbs, scarfs, artisan crafts and also a bunch useless junk to be honest. Great to stroll around with plenty of photography opportunities, especially when night falls. Because of its wooden roof that allows little sunlight inside, this souk is also called Souk Al Thalam or 'market of darkness'. As a white man in an Arab country, I'm obviously an easy target, resulting in saying 'no thanks' about 900 times that day to intrusive shop owners trying to sell random crap to me. Can't blame them. . . . . . #muscat #oman #souk #souq #muttrahsouk #muttrahsouq #omantourism #muscatoman #muscatlife #muscatdaily #souqmuscat #StreetShot #StreetVision #streetphotography #streetphotographerscommunity #streetphotographersmagazine #timeless_streets #streetscene #natgeoyourshot #natgeoadventure #streets_storytelling #fotografiacallejera #streetphotographers #streetsgrammer #fromstreetswithlove #streetphotographyinternational #streetdreamsmag #streets_storytelling #streetfinder #life_is_street #thosethatinspire
