IMD Suggests Actions For People In Delhi

IMD also suggested actions because the impact is expected to be significant. Reduction in visibility, water logging in low-lying areas, minor damage to kutcha, increased travel time due to traffic caused by waterlogging, and damage to some crops and horticulture are the impacts expected. The department has suggested various actions and precautions before heading out.

Before leaving for your destination, check for traffic congestion on your route; heed any traffic advisories that may be issued; stay away from locations that frequently experience waterlogging issues; and avoid lodging in vulnerable structures. To name a few, North Delhi, North-East Delhi, North-West Delhi, West Delhi, Central Delhi, New Delhi, South-West Delhi, South Delhi, South-East Delhi, and East Delhi are the regions of Delhi that are most likely to see rain.

A MeT department official reported that due to an active western disturbance that caused a small dip in temperatures, portions of Rajasthan had 10 to 30 mm of rainfall in the previous day.
