Varanasi, one of the most spiritual cities in India, is all set to undergo a massive makeover. Six of its wards will be beautified at an approximate cost of ₹ 80 crores. They will now have theme-based wall paintings reflecting its rich culture.  The city will also have a retro look with many smart facilities. Read on to know more.

Varanasi To Get A New Look By 2021

The holy city of Varanasi is getting a makeover worth ₹ 80 crores, as per a report by Hindustan Times. Six wards in the city, Dashashwamedh, Jangamwadi, Kameshwar Mahadev, Kaal Bhairav, Rajmandir and Garhwasi Tola are a part of this project. They will now have a retro look with several smart facilities. The deadline for the completion of face-lifting work in these areas falls in 2021.

Theme-Based Wall Paintings To Reflect Kashi’s Rich Culture

As a part of this revamping project, beautiful theme-based wall paintings reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Kashi will now adorn the lanes of the city. Gaurang Rathi, municipal commissioner of Varanasi told Hindustan Times, “The lanes will have theme-based wall paintings and new square stones. A rejuvenation will conserve the lanes and attract tourists from across the world.” Not just this, authorities will also improve the water supply and sewerage system. According to the publication, work for this has already begun and underground pipelines will be laid soon.

Must-Visit Tourist Places In India’s Spiritual Capital
