Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai is calling out to citizens, institutions and companies to adopt some of its tigers, leopards, lions, barking deer, spotted deer and other wild animals. The yearly adoption charges start at ₹10,000. Also, by the adoption of one of these wild animals, you will be contributing to the daily maintenance of the park. Which Animals Are Up For Adoption?

Tigers, lions, leopards, rusty-spotted cats, blue bull, spotted deer and barking deer at Mumbai’s Sanjay Gandhi National Park are up for adoption. The adoption scheme had begun in 2013. Hitherto, 20 animals have been adopted and from these adoptions, the park received yearly donations of nearly ₹16.6 lakhs. Some tigers at Sanjay Gandhi National Park were brought from Madhya Pradesh’s Pench National Park and Karnataka’s Bannerghatta National Park.

What Is The Cost Of Adoption For Each Animal?

According to a CN Traveller report, the amount of money to be shelled out yearly for adopting a tiger is ₹3.1 lakhs. The yearly adoption charge for a lion is ₹3 lakh. The charge for adopting a leopard is ₹1.2 lakhs. Charges for rusty-spotted cats, blue bull, spotted deer and barking deer are ₹50,000, ₹30,000, ₹20,000 and ₹10,000 respectively.
