The decorations of Diwali on the bank of the Saryu River in Ayodhya are an unbelievably beautiful sight to witness. With lakhs of lit diyas spread all over the place, visitors get mesmerised by the magical aura. This time, Ayodhya has enlisted its name in the Guinness World Record for its extravagant diya decorations.

Taking to Instagram, the chef uploaded some magnificent glimpses of the splendid arrangement of lakhs of earthen diyas for Deepotsav celebrations on the ghats in Ayodhya.

It was a starry event in Ayodhya on the grand occasion of Diwali eve. Last night, around 22.23 lakh diyas were lit at a total of 51 ghats in the city. Visuals of such a huge number of illuminating diyas at the same time looked simply unimaginably ethereal. Ghats after ghats decorated with earthen diyas and the glimmering lights from birds’ eye view mesmerised all of us.

Pictures and videos of Ayodhya Deepotsav celebrations are making rounds on social media platforms. Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, Manab Deka, MLA Lakhimpur Assam, shared some spectacular snippets and clips of Ayodhya Deepotsav 2023. The glimpses of diyas illuminating the city and symbolising joy and prosperity are impressing everyone with all their glory.

Ayodhya Deepotsav Set A New Guinness World Record After Breaking Its Own Record

Yogi Adityanath shared the grand news of the Ayodhya celebrations setting a world record for lighting the maximum number of earthen lamps.

This is not the first time that the celebrations and festivities in Ayodhya received this prestigious recognition. Ayodhya is celebrating Deepotsav from the year 2017. This lavish celebration began in 2017 with 51,000 diyas. Over the years, the number of diyas saw a rise to 4.10 lakh in 2019, more than 6 lakh in 2020, more than 9 lakh in 2021, and more than 17 lakh in 2022. Deepotsav set the Guinness Book of World Records last year as well with 15,76,955 diyas. At the end of 5 minutes and more, 15,76,955 were still lit up and these were counted for the Guinness Book of World Records.

Jaiveer Singh, the Tourism and Culture Minister of Uttar Pradesh, flagged off the procession from Udaya Square, according to a report by The Times of India. The yatra continued in different places of Ayodhya till the Ram Katha Park. There were a total of 18 tableaux in this procession. These were themed on Ramayana, social issiues, and more.
