Weather Forecast Predicts Landslide & Flash Flood In Uttarakhand Till July 13; Details Inside

It has been a few days since Uttarakhand has been receiving incessant rainfall. Monsoon season and its harsh consequences continue to disrupt this hilly state mercilessly. The weather conditions and surroundings still look grim triggering chaos for everyone. Heavy rainfall caused landslides and flood-like situations in many areas in Uttarakhand. Unfortunately, the weather department predicted further risk for the state.

Warning Issued For Landslide & Flood In Uttarakhand

Meteorological Centre Dehradun is the central government department for weather forecasts in Uttarakhand. Taking to X, the department shared information about predictions for the next few days.

These predictions are for different districts in the state for 5 days. Starting from July 9, multiple areas in Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Udham Singh Nagar, and Uttarkashi districts are likely to experience distributed and intensified precipitation till July 13.

Also, the weather forecast for July 14 and 15 revealed that no significant changes will be recorded on these two days. Isolated places in these districts are also expected to receive rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning. Unfortunately, the forecast mentioned the risk of rock falls and mudslides at different places in Uttarakhand.

Landslides and falling of rocks can trigger blockage of roads and highways. There is a risky chance of a spike in water flow in rivulets and rainwater streams. Heavy to very heavy rain may lead to floods in different areas. Damage to lives and property is likely because of landslides, downpours, and lightning.
