If you’ve earned your degree outside the UAE and want it recognised for work, further studies, or visa applications, there’s a process in place to make it official. The UAE Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research ensures that foreign university degrees meet local and global academic standards & recognition. Let’s break it down step by step so you can get your degree recognised without the headache.

How Does UAE’s New Foreign Degree Recognition Work?

The process is split into two stages: degree verification and qualification recognition. Each step ensures your academic credentials are authentic and align with UAE requirements.

Stage 1: Degree Verification

Before your degree gets the official recognition stamp, it needs to be verified. Here’s what you’ll need to do:

  1. Apply Through a Trusted Partner – Choose between QuadraBay or DataFlow, the Ministry’s authorised verification partners.
  2. Submit Your Details – Log into their website, enter personal information, and provide degree details.
  3. Upload Required Documents – Attach necessary files, including transcripts and certificates.
  4. Pay the Fees – The cost depends on your qualifications and will be calculated at the time of application.
  5. University Verification – The verification agency will contact your university for confirmation. Once completed, you’ll receive a reference number for the next step.

Stage 2: Qualification Recognition

Once your degree is verified, it’s time to apply for the Recognition Report from the Ministry.

  1. Log into the Ministry’s Portal using your UAEPass.
  2. Enter Your Reference Number from Stage 1.
  3. Confirm Your Details – The system will automatically fill in your personal and educational information.
  4. Pay the Fees – The recognition service costs:
    • AED 100 for an undergraduate degree
    • AED 150 for a postgraduate degree
    • AED 200 for a doctorate
  5. Receive Your Recognition Report – You’ll get a decision via email, and the document will be available for download.

To ensure a smooth process, have these ready:

  • Degree verification document from QuadraBay, DataFlow, or an approved embassy verification.
  • Graduation certificate or diploma (original or legalised copy).
  • Official transcript covering the full duration of the study.
  • Thesis abstract (for research-based graduate degrees).
  • Legal translations if your documents aren’t in English or Arabic.

The verification process typically takes 20 working days, though delays may occur if extra checks are needed. Plan ahead if you need your recognition report for job applications or visa processing.
