However, recently, the Saudi Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing issued a statement in which it was stated that it has temporarily closed branches of a popular food chain in the kingdom. We are talking about the well-known Egyptian dessert chain, which has temporarily shut down.
An Egyptian Dessert Chain Closes In Saudi Arabia
As mentioned in a report by Khaleej Times, it was mentioned that an Egyptian dessert chain has been temporarily closed in Saudi Arabia, and this was also mentioned in reports from several other media outlets and social media accounts. Yes, they claimed that this well-known Egyptian dessert chain had been shut down temporarily due to a large number of food poisoning cases related to its products. A brand that is also highly popular in the UAE, is known for its Egyptian-inspired sweets. While it has grown rapidly across the Gulf, it now faces scrutiny from the people.
It was also mentioned in the same report that authorities confiscated food samples, which were taken for laboratory analysis.

Those Suspected Of Food Poisoning Are Recovering
In fact, food apps like HungerStation and Jahez have also suspended their listing on delivery services for the eatery. While the name has not been expressly mentioned in the report, it has been highly speculated by other publishing outlets that it is B. Laban, which is being talked about in the report.
Although most of the suspected cases of food poisoning have already recovered, there are some who are still receiving necessary medical care, and they are in a stable condition. Moreover, the ministry has also confirmed that it’s coordinating with the food and drug authority. However, as a precautionary measure, the manufacturing facilities and branches have been temporarily closed until a complete verification and analysis process is undertaken.
