Suhail Al Mazrouei, the UAE’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, inaugurated the 16th edition of Middle East Rail by noting that the GCC nations are actively constructing their railway networks.

Future Projects Are Sustainable
The minister stated the UAE’s ambition to decrease CO2 emissions by 70% by 2050 includes developing Etihad Rail. Therefore, increasing energy costs, particularly train fuel, are problematic, he added. In addition, countries must assure effectiveness and sustainability.
