Etihad Airways recently took to its official account on X (formerly Twitter) to announce that 40 new destinations will be added as its partnership with Air France-KLM group gets enhanced. Yes, they announced that the two airlines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which aims at expanding their collaboration opportunities including passenger operations, talent development, maintenance, and even loyalty programmes. So, with the signing of the document, which took place at the headquarters of Air France-KLM Group in Paris, France, their codeshare and interline agreements are set to be enhanced.

40 New Routes To Be Added

This is the first step and now 40 new routes, which will cover destinations spread across the Middle East, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Australia will be made available for bookings. This means this could make travelling for you quite easy, and it could happen as early as the winter of 2023. Not to mention, this MoU has also proposed something for the frequent flyers of both airlines. Yes, whether the frequent flyers are Flying Blue or Etihad Guests, they can earn and redeem in miles with Air France, KLM, and Etihad Airways! Not to mention, this will also help in exploring the terminal co-location, ground handling, and even reciprocal lounge, along with other initiatives.
This development comes after earlier, Air France-KLM had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture & Tourism, aiming to reinforce connectivity between Abu Dhabi and Europe.
